Rock Physics Based Interpretation of Seismically Derived Elastic Volumes

A rock physics based seismic interpretation workflow has been developed to extract volumetric properties from seismically derived P- and S-wave impedances, I p s . This was first tested on a classic velocity-porosity model. Next, it applied two case studies: carbonate clastic oil field. In each study, we established models that accurately relate elastic the rock’s properties, mainly total porosity, clay content, pore fluid. To resolve all three only inputs, , site-specific geology driven relation between fluid porosity as hydrocarbon identifier. order apply this method at spatial scale, created coarse-scale variables by using mathematical upscaling wells. By thus upscaled, arrived accurate of upscaled mineralogy, water saturation both wells in simulated vertical impedance section generated interpolation
